GO Transit service changes from Saturday, December 2

Metrolinx has announced that beginning Saturday, December 2, it is adjusting schedules to better reflect actual travel times and to improve connections to adjusted train trips.

The changes affecting Durham Region will be on routes 54 (Oshawa/Oakville), 88 (Peterborough/Oshawa), 92 (Oshawa/Yorkdale) and 96 (Oshawa/Finch Express).

Some trips will be departing up to five minutes earlier or 10 minutes later.

Reduced bus service

Also beginning on Saturday, December 2, GO bus service will be reduced on some routes serving post-secondary institutions due to lower demand as classes end and holidays begin.

“We know that this is a busy time of year for students, so rest assured that we will still have service to get students to their exams. All customers are also encouraged to plan ahead and check schedules before travel at GOTransit.com, Metrolinx advised.

Affected routes in Durham include 56 (Sheridan, York, Durham College, Ontario Tech University) and 88 (Trent). Some trips will not run starting December 23 through January 5, 2024. Service on these bus routes returns January 6, 2024.
