Human remains found in Clarington woods

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said they had found human remains in Clarington.

“There is a heavy police presence near Simpson Avenue and Baseline Road in Bowmanville, following the discovery of human remains in a wooded area,” said a brief police alert.

The area is near the Bowmanville Valley conservation area.

Police said additional details will be provided as they become available.

Scugog Street, north of Church Street in Bowmanville, was also closed with a heavy police presence in the area which too borders the Bowmanville Valley.
