Warrants, traffic stops unearth guns, drugs and cash

Durham Police yesterday said two females and a male are facing numerous charges after police seized a large quantity of Canadian currency, drugs and a loaded firearm.

On Wednesday, September 28, members from the Drug Enforcement Unit concluded an investigation, which resulted in the execution of search warrants at three residences, two storage lockers and four motor vehicles. The warrants took place in Oshawa, Toronto, Oakville and Richmond Hill, said a police statement.

As a result, officers seized the following: over $100,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded firearm and Fentanyl.

A suspect each from Oshawa, Richmond Hill and Oakville have been charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Gun, drugs at Whitby stop

Three adults face numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Whitby.

On Saturday, October 1 at around 12:30 am, members of Central West Division conducted a traffic stop on Brock Street near Consumers Drive in Whitby. The driver was unlicensed and all three occupants were found to be in possession of cannabis readily available. The three occupants were arrested and police seized a loaded firearm (image above), cocaine and cannabis in the vehicle.

One suspect from Ajax and two from Toronto face charges and were held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Gun at Oshawa traffic stop

A 28-year-old driver faces numerous charges after police seized a firearm during a traffic stop in Oshawa.

On Friday, September 30 at about 7:30 pm, members of Central East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of John Street West and Centre Street South.

The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of cannabis readily available. The driver was arrested and police seized a loaded firearm and drugs in his possession, said the police.

The suspect from Ajax faces several charges and was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
