Work on Bowmanville Avenue widening starts Monday

Bowmanville Avenue widening and construction work is scheduled to start today (Monday October 3), according to the Regional Municipality of Durham.

End of March this year, the region had soil testing done along the site.

It is now advising residents of road closure of Kings Hill Lane at Waverly Road in the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Bowmanville.

The closure will be from October 3 until December 2022.

“This closure is part of the Bowmanville Avenue widening and construction work. Further closures will be required and notice will be provided to residents,” said a region’s statement.

Local traffic and emergency services will be required to use the signed detour routes.

The region said it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
