Air1 assisted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male, who also fled from police in Ajax.
On Thursday, September 29 at about 1:45 am, DRPS received information from the Cobourg Police Service that a suspect operating a Porsche SUV fled from a traffic stop in the Town of Cobourg, almost striking the investigating officer.
Members of Central East Division located the suspect vehicle on Labrador Drive in Oshawa and when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it failed to stop for police and fled at a high rate of speed. Air1 was able to locate vehicle and followed it into Ajax. The suspect vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed before striking a cement barrier and rolling onto a residential property on Range Road and Hoile Drive, said a police statement.
The driver was arrested and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Domestic Assault
PC Dunlop and K9 Taz of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K-9 Unit, same night, teamed up with Air 1 and officers from DRPS East Division to track and locate an outstanding suspect who fled the scene of a violent domestic assault Incident.
With help from Air1, Taz apprehended the perpetrator concealing himself in a dense wooded area. One in custody, said a tweet.
Air1 follows carjacker to Peel
One male is in custody and faces 20 charges after two carjacking’s that occurred at night in the Durham Region.
On Wednesday, September 28 at about 9:45 pm, members of West Division responded to an attempted carjacking in the area of Coomer Crescent and Chapman Drive in Ajax. The suspect approached a female and brandished a knife attempting to obtain her vehicle. The female fought back and the male suspect fled. A short time later, a male matching the same description approached a female on Gibb Street in Oshawa and robbed her of her motor vehicle, a Kia Rio.
Air1 was able to locate the stolen vehicle on the 401 and followed it to an address in Peel region where the suspect driver was taken into custody.
A 17-year-old male is facing a total of 20 charges which include: Robbery; Assault with a Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses with dashcam video in either area to contact police.
