Woman hurt as car turns turtle after hitting pole

Durham Police said a 27-year-old female was seriously injured in a single motor vehicle collision in Ajax on Monday morning.

On September 26 at about 4:48 am, members of West Division were dispatched to a single motor-vehicle collision on Westney Road, near O’Brien Court in Ajax.

The 27-year-old driver was last travelling southbound in a four-door BMW on Westney Road past Fairall Street when the driver for unknown reasons lost control and struck a hydro pole resulting in the motor vehicle to rollover into the southbound lanes of Westney Road, said a police statement issued yesterday.

The female was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.

Members of West Division investigated the collision while crews cleared the roadways. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with dash-cam, video surveillance or who witnessed this collision is asked to call Cst. Sandhu of West Division at 905-579-1520 (toll free 1-888-579-1520) ext. 2521. Email at 3986@drps.ca.
