Weapons prohibition did not stop two individuals from being found with firearms and stolen license plates in Ajax by police.
On Thursday, April 16, around 5:45 am, members of West Division responded to an alarm call on a property in the area of Finley Avenue and Clements Road West.
Police received reports of a suspicious vehicle with no lights driving onto the property. Officers arrived on scene and located a woman in the vehicle. The licence plates attached to the vehicle were confirmed stolen and the female suspect was taken into custody without incident.
A short time later, a man was located on the property and taken into custody without incident. Break-and-enter tools, drugs, and shotgun shells were located in the man’s possession.
A search of the vehicle located a shotgun and imitation firearm.

At the time of his arrest, the accused was already bound by a weapons prohibition.
The 40-year old male suspect and the 45-year old woman, both from Toronto were held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
