The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming road closures in the Town of Whitby and in Courtice in the Municipality of Clarington.
There will be lane restrictions on Stellar Drive (Regional Road 25) in the Town of Whitby, both east and westbound, from 850m west of Thornton Road South (Regional Road 52) to 1 km west of Thornton Road South, in Whitby.
The road will be closed from November 19 to December 5. The road is closed to safely install water services and construct entrances in support of a new development.
The region of Durham also announced that the installation of temporary traffic signals and roadway illumination continues at the intersection of Thickson Road North and Rossland Road East in Whitby until December.
Bloor Closure
Road closure for Bloor Street will be in place from December 8 to April 24, 2026.
Road closure will be in place westbound on Bloor Street, from Trulls Road to Prestonvale Road, in Courtice. Westbound access will be permitted for local traffic only. Eastbound access will still be open. Detour notices will be in place.
Bloor St is being closed for the safe installation of watermains, sanitary sewer and storm sewer, as well as the reconstruction of Bloor Street in support of new development.
Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule, the region said.
The region said the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
