The high winds resulted in numerous calls about tree limbs, debris and live wires across multiple roadways in Durham Region, including live wires down at Reach/Simcoe in Port Perry yesterday morning.

At approximately 11:50 pm Thursday night, officers were called to downtown Oshawa after a large piece of metal, believed to be from the roof of the Michael Starr building, was dislodged and smashed into the front glass of a business on King Street. Other pieces of debris came off the roof and a section of the downtown was closed to assist with repairs and clean up. No injuries were reported.
