Woman crashes into hydro pole, is in critical condition

A woman veered of the road in Clarington and crashed into a hydro pole leaving her in critical but stable condition.

On Monday, August 17, around 7:25 am officers from East Division responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Energy Drive and Holt Road in Bowmanville.

The 38-year-old woman was driving a black 2025 Nissan Sentra westbound on Energy Drive, west of Holt Road, when it left the roadway and struck a hydro pole on the north side. The driver was transported to a Toronto area trauma hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. At this time, the investigation remains ongoing.
