The victim has been identified as Latonya Anderson.

The 33-year old suspect of Whitby has been charged with Second Degree Murder, and was held for bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Police said November is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence and advocating for its prevention. Domestic violence can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, and psychological abuse. It knows no boundaries and can impact people of all ages, genders, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. This month serves as a crucial reminder that we must come together as a community to support those affected by domestic violence and work towards creating safer environments for everyone.
