Man shot multiple times while seated in vehicle is stable now

Durham Police are investigating after a male was shot and injured while in a vehicle in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, November 1 at about 4:30 am, members of East Division responded to reports of a male being shot in the area of Aldergrove Drive and Park Ridge Drive in Oshawa.

Police arrived on scene and located a male with multiple gun shot wounds.  The victim was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition, said a police statement.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the area of Grandview Street North and Rossland Road East in Oshawa.  One suspect exited a black SUV, being driven by a second suspect, and opened fire on the victim while he was seated in a motor vehicle.  Both suspects then fled the area in the black SUV, police said.

The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable.

This appears to be an isolated incident.  At this time there are no safety concerns to the public, police said.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have security camera footage or dash cam footage from the area of Grandview Street North and Rossland Road East in Oshawa, or anyone who may have any other information about the black SUV or this incident.
