Winter on-street parking rule starts to come into effect from today

The three Durham municipalities of Whitby, Scugog and Uxbridge will start enforcing winter on-street parking restrictions from today (November 1).

A couple of other municipalities, like Ajax and Clarington, have nighttime parking restrictions all year round, while Brock enforces winter parking rules from November 15 and Pickering and Oshawa from December 1.

The annual seasonal restriction are to prepare for winter conditions and enable snow plow operators to clear away ice and snow quickly and easily during the overnight hours when there is less traffic and impact on drivers.
