13-year old stabs another teen, held for bail hearing

Durham Police yesterday said a 13-year-old male has been arrested after stabbing another youth on Friday in Pickering.

On October 27 at about 6:25 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Kingston Road and Orchard Valley Court in Pickering.

Police arrived on scene and located a 15-year-old male suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was known to the victim and had fled the scene prior to police arrival, police said.

On Sunday, October 29, the suspect attended a DRPS division with his guardians to turn himself in. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The victim’s status has since been upgraded to stable, police said.

A 13-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

He was held for a bail hearing.
