Elexiscam: Pay up asap or get disconnected

Elexicon Energy has issued an alert to customers about a new scam that demands money on threat of disconnection.

“Scam Alert! Individuals claiming to be from Elexicon Energy are contacting customers and threatening disconnection unless a money e-transfer is made immediately,” said the utility provider.

“We do not accept money e-transfers, cash payments or digital currency,” it said asking clients to view a list of bill payment or disconnection options here.

It said if customers receive a call from someone threatening to disconnect power unless payment is made immediately, hang up and contact your local police department and notify the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or at @canantifraud.
