Woman pedestrian seriously hurt in Oshawa

A 37-year-old female pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa on Saturday evening.

On Saturday, August 28, at approximately 9:04 pm, members of Central East Division were called to a serious collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of King Street East and Central Park Boulevard. It is reported that a female crossing the intersection was struck by an eastbound white Dodge Grand Caravan.

First responders attended the scene within minutes and provided medical assistance to the female pedestrian. The female was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre originally with life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the female’s condition was downgraded to serious but non-life threatening injuries, and was listed in stable condition. The driver of the van did not sustain any injuries.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
