Two people were arrested following a firearm investigation in Whitby. The suspects had a loaded firearm with a prohibited over-capacity magazine in their possession.
On Wednesday, September 30, investigators with the Gun and Gang Unit concluded an investigation into a man and woman who were believed to be in possession of a firearm. Both suspects were located in the area of Dundas Street East and Garden Street and taken into custody without incident.
At the time of his arrest, the man was on conditions not to possess any weapons or cell phones and remain in his residence at all times.
The suspects are a 22-year old and a 19-year old from Whitby. Both were held for a bail hearing. Names and further details are available at www.drps.ca.
