19-year old held for armed cellphone store robbery

Durham Police robbery investigators have arrested one suspect and looking for a second male after a cell-phone store robbery in September.

On September 1, members of Central West Division were called to Freedom Mobile located at the Kendalwood Plaza for an armed robbery. Two suspects entered the store armed with guns and made a demand for cellphones. The suspects stole a customer’s phone and fled to an awaiting silver Hyundai.

Investigators identified one of the suspects and arrested him in Brampton, said a police statement.

The 19-year old has been charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

A second suspect is still sought.
