26-year old woman survives early Sunday shooting

Durham Police are investigating after a 26-year-old female was shot in Whitby early Sunday morning.

On October 17 at about 3 am, members from Central West Division were called to a disturbance at the Kendalwood Plaza (Dundas Street East and Kendalwood Road) in Whitby. When they arrived, they located a female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect description at this time. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
