Watch videos of Durham Chief For a Day finalists

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said that hundreds of essays were submitted from across Durham Region for DRPS’ Chief For a Day Contest this year. From these submissions, 10 finalists were selected. In years past, these finalists would be invited to Durham Regional Headquarters to present their essays live to the judging panel.

This year, to minimize physical contact and maintain Covid-19 protocols, the finalists were invited to send in a video submission of their essays for the panel to review. Last week the selection panel held a virtual meeting to view the videos and select the 2021 Chief For A Day – Connor Frigan From Charles Bowman Public School in Bowmanville, said a police statement.

All of the 2021 Chief For a Day Finalists submitted compelling video narratives of their essays. Congratulations to our 2021 Deputy Chiefs. You all did an outstanding job and are excellent representatives for your schools, it added.
