No one hurt in vehicle vs. train crash in Clarington

Officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division yesterday reported a vehicle and train collision in Clarington.

Miraculously no one was injured in the accident.

Yesterday afternoon, DRPS tweeted: “Police are on scene for a collision investigation involving a vehicle vs. train outside Darlington Provincial Park. Fortunately, no injuries to report and the roadway is expected to re-open soon. Investigation ongoing.

“Motorists are reminded to obey train control crossings, it added.

The tweet reminded the public that 95 per cent of all train-related deaths involve drivers going through a crossing or a person on the tracks.
