Police find disappearance of two Whitby women suspicious

Durham Police investigators are looking for any information surrounding the suspicious disappearance of two females who have been reported missing from a residence in Whitby.

On Thursday, October 14 at about 2:55 pm, members of Central West Division attended an address on Scepter Place, after a request to check on the wellbeing of two females. The females have not been located however, officers did locate evidence at the scene which indicates suspicious circumstances surrounding their disappearance. Police have secured the premise and the investigation is ongoing.

Ava Burton, age 58 and her mother Tatilda Noble, age 85, both of Scepter Place in Whitby are missing.

Ava Burton is described as female, black, 5’1″ tall 125 pounds, light complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.

Tatilda Noble is described as female, black, 5-foot-tall, 100 pounds, light complexion, brown eyes, grey hair approximately neck length, prescription glasses. Her hair is usually wrapped in a scarf and she speaks with a Jamaican accent.

Anyone with home security or dash-cam video at the above location, or anyone with information about the whereabouts of these females is asked to contact Det. McDermott of the Major Crime Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5411.

Police investigators  cordoned off the residential home and set up a command post in the vicinity.

Help find this missing man from Oshawa

Police are searching for a missing male, who was last seen on October 8.

Investigators are looking for Manpreet Bumrah, age 28 who was last seen leaving his residence near King Street West and Nassau Street in Oshawa. There are concerns for his wellbeing. His family has concerns for his safety as he has not made any contact with them since he left home.

Bumrah is described as a male, South Asian, 5’11” tall, 170 pounds, black hair, thin build, brown eyes. He has a full beard.
