A 30-year-old male has been arrested following a child luring investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
According to police, the investigation began in late February after officers became aware of an adult male communicating online with a 14-year-old girl. The suspect allegedly sent sexually explicit messages and arranged to meet with the youth in person.
On July 11, members of the DRPS ICE Unit arrested the suspect without incident.
Police are concerned there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Investigators say the male used the usernames “Nyke” on Discord and “sir.campos” on Snapchat.
