OPP Highway Safety Division yesterday announced that its keen-eyed officers had arrested three men and laid 36 weapons-related charges, including one of a firearm obtained by crime.
The incident happened at Highway 407 and Harmony Road in Oshawa on Friday, September 19 at around 6pm.
A vehicle traveling eastbound was stopped and three men were arrested and taken into custody, said an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) spokesperson.
He said the three individuals are facing a total of 36 weapons-related charges. One suspect, age 36 is from Calendon, another age 23, is from Toronto and the third, age 41 is from Pikeville, New York.
Their bail hearing has been done.
The OPP spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing, and to protect the integrity of the investigation no further information will be released at this time.
