Durham Police said a male from Brampton is facing sexual assault charges after a 13-year old reported being sexually assaulted.
On Tuesday, October 29, Investigators from the Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) commenced an investigation involving a 13-year-old female who was reported to have been sexually assaulted by a 36-year-old male in the North Durham area.
Investigators identified the male, and on Thursday, October 31, members of the Offender Management Unit (OMU) took the male into custody without incident, police said.
A male, age 36 of Brampton, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Investigators are committed to ensuring there are no further victims and are appealing to any potential witnesses to come forward with any information they may have. The accused is known to frequent the London, Barrie, and Greater Toronto Areas.
