Oshawa said it is in receipt of an application for a project of 57 townhouse community along Taunton Road East.
Applications have been submitted to the City of Oshawa by D.G. Biddle & Associates Limited on behalf of Urban Life Development Inc. for approval of a Draft Plan of Subdivision (File: S-O-2022-01) and Draft Plan of Condominium (File: C-O-2022-05) and to amend Zoning By-law 60-94 (File: Z-2022-04), said a city statement.
The lands are located at 737, 741 and 745 Taunton Road East.
The applications have been determined to be complete. A Notice of Public Meeting under the Planning Act will be advertised separately at a future date, said a city notice.
It said the purpose of these applications is to:
- Implement a draft plan of subdivision (S-O-2022-01) which proposes to create a block which may be further severed to permit the development of up to 57 block townhouse dwellings and a road widening block along the south side of Taunton Road East;
- Implement a common elements draft plan of condominium (C-O-2022-05) for a total of 57 block townhouse dwellings in 10 block townhouse buildings. The common elements include a private roadway, visitor parking areas, landscaped open space and a utility building; and
- Rezone the subject lands from R2/R4-A/R6-A“h-22” (Residential) to an appropriate Residential Zone to permit block townhouse dwellings, with site specific conditions to permit certain performance standards such as reduced front yard depth, interior side yard depth, rear yard depth and landscaped open space, and increased lot coverage.
The lands subject to these applications are also subject to an Application for Site Plan Approval (File: SPA-2022-11).
