67-year-old man in hospital after Clarington crash

A weekend night collision in Clarington left a 67-year-old male with serious injuries.

On December 2 at about 6:45 pm, members of East Division were called to the vicinity of Energy Drive and Bowmanville Avenue in the Clarington for a serious collision involving two vehicles.

At this time a black Nissan Frontier pick-up truck, travelling east on Energy Drive, crossed the centre-line where it struck a westbound white Chevrolet Impala. The collision occurred to the west of Bowmanville Avenue, said a police statement.

The driver and lone occupant of the Nissan Frontier pick-up truck, a 67-year-old male resident of Bowmanville, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The male’s condition has since been downgraded, listed to be in serious but stable condition. The driver and lone occupant of the Chevrolet Impala received minor injuries.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
