Sober truck driver charged… had weed readily available

It is no good if you register no alert for impaired driving because you are sane and sober. However, you must make sure that substances that impair you are out of reach when you are driving.

DRPS Traffic Services were monitoring Highway 7 and Westney Road in the City of Pickering yesterday when they came upon this truck (images top and below) that was stopped for speeding.

The driver was clocked doing 121 in an 80kmh zone.

The roadside investigation revealed cannabis readily available. It was determined the driver was sober, and appropriate charges laid, said a police tweet.
