75% of 170 tickets in two days were in or very near school zones

Durham Regional Police Services (DRPS) Central East Division yesterday announced they have issued 170 traffic offence tickets in just two days.

Day 6 and Day 7 of DRPS Central East Division’s November Traffic Initiative saw 170 tickets issued and 15 warnings given, said a police tweet issued yesterday.

It said two cars were impounded for stunt driving and one for driving with licence suspended.

Most troubling statistic was that 75 per cent of the charges were issued for offences in or very near to school zones.

Thank you to the drivers who don’t meet us, added the tweet.
