76-year old woman serious after car collision

A 76-year-old female from Uxbridge was seriously injured after being involved in a motor-vehicle collision on Lakeridge Road at Highway 47 in Uxbridge on Sunday.

On September 15 at 12:30 pm., members of North Division were called to serious motor-vehicle collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Lakeridge Road and Highway 47 in Uxbridge Township. Two vehicles were reportedly involved in a T-bone collision within the intersection.

It was reported that a red Pontiac Sunfire was eastbound on Highway 47 when it entered the intersection at Lakeridge Road in Uxbridge. The Pontiac was eastbound when it was t-boned by a Jeep Compass travelling southbound on Lakeridge Road. The Pontiac came to rest in a marsh situated on the southeast side of the intersection.

The female driver of the Pontiac was extricated and rushed to a Toronto-area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The 59-year-old driver of the involved Jeep Compass and her passenger remained at the scene and were treated for minor injuries.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
