Police asks residents for any new info on Whitby indecent acts

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is asking residents if they have any new information about indecent act incidents in Whitby to come forward. Investigators want to ensure there are no further victims.

Police have identified the suspect in an indecent acts investigation in Whitby as a 22-year-old male of Oshawa, who is facing charges.

The incident occurred near Dryden Boulevard and Garden Street in Whitby on November 15 at about 9:40 am. The suspect stopped his vehicle to ask a 15-year-old female for directions. The suspect was committing an indecent act while interacting with the victim. The same suspect was observed minutes later by the victim and another female teen in the area of Hemingford Place in Whitby, said a police statement.

It is believed that this same suspect also committed the same offence on October 21, this year, when he approached another teenaged female at the Jack Wilson Park on Anderson Street in Whitby. He asked for directions while committing an indecent act. This was not reported to police until November 15.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst Bortoluss of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1877.
