Multiple car break-in thief and fraudster arrested

A suspect has been charged after several thefts from motor vehicle and related fraud incidents occurred in Whitby.

In March, members of the Central West Division Criminal Investigation Bureau commenced an investigation into multiple theft from motor vehicles that occurred in the area of Columbus Road East and Thickson Road North, Brooklin. The suspect entered unlocked vehicles and stole property that included identification and banking/credit cards. The suspect then fraudulently used the stolen cards at various gas stations throughout Whitby, said a police statement.

On May 21, the suspect was located and arrested without incident.

The suspects from Oshawa was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
