Don’t forget changes to blue box collection schedule

The Regional Municipality of Durham is reminding Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to the scheduled blue box collection due to the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 22.

Oshawa and Whitby residents will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the next day. This means that blue box collection scheduled for Monday, May 22 (Victoria Day) will be moved to Tuesday, May 23. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, May 26 collection being moved to Saturday, May 27, the municipal statement said.

It reminded residents to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 am on the day of collection. Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. Residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding the collection of these items.
