New play equipment coming to five Clarington parks

The Municipality of Clarington yesterday announced that new playground equipment is coming to parks in Burketon, Haydon, Kendal, Newtonville and Orono.

It said Clarington residents will soon see new playground equipment at the following parks:

  • Burketon Park
  • Harvey Jackson Park
  • Haydon Hall Parkette
  • Ina Brown Parkette
  • Peters Pike Parkette

Crews will work throughout May and June to remove the existing equipment that has reached its end of life and install new play structures. New benches and waste receptacles will also be added, along with trail improvements, said a municipal statement.

Temporary fencing has been erected around the construction areas. Residents are asked to stay a safe distance back and not enter the construction site.

The playgrounds are expected to reopen by the end of June following a safety inspection, said the statement.
