Lane restrictions on Clarington street until June 30

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced ongoing lane restrictions on North Street in the community of Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington.

The restrictions are scheduled to last until June 30. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule, a statement said.

It said the lane restrictions will be in place daily from 7 am to 7 pm on North Street (Regional Road 17), from 50 metres north of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Grade Separation to Monroe Street West.

These are needed for construction work to support new development, said the region.

It said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
