Traffic stop nets two wanted men, a woman, and drugs

Durham Police yesterday said a female and two wanted males are in custody after they were found in possession of various drugs during a traffic stop in Clarington.

On Tuesday, April 23 at about 8:25 pm, a member of East Division initiated a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area of Baseline Road and Liberty Street South.

The registered owner of the vehicle was flagged as being wanted by police. A check of the driver’s ID confirmed he was the owner and currently had a warrant for his arrest. Another male, who was wanted by police, as well as a female were also located in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed a quantity of drugs and weapons, said a police report.

A male suspect, age 38 of No Fixed Address and another, age 31 from Bowmanville, were charged and held for a bail hearing. The female, age 28 from Oshawa was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
