Air1 helps nab teens who robbed 13-year-old at knifepoint

Durham Police yesterday said two young males are facing charges after robbing a 13-year-old male at knifepoint in Ajax.

On Wednesday, October 16, at about 6:40 pm, members of West Division responded to a robbery call in the area of Rossland Road West and Church Street North.

Two male youth stole a scooter from another male youth. The victim confronted the suspects, however the suspects made threats toward the victim while brandishing a knife, police said.

Officers, with the assistance of Air1, searched the area and located the suspects a short distance away. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

A 16-year-old male from Pickering is charged with robbery.

A 15-year-old male from Pickering is charged with robbery.

Both were released on an undertaking.
