Durham Police said seven adults and one 14-year old, are facing charges after the conclusion of a drug investigation that led to two handguns and numerous drugs being seized.
On Friday, October 11, members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals involved in drug trafficking. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU), the team conducted search warrants on a residence, as well as multiple vehicles, in the area of Delaney Drive and Westney Road North, in Ajax, police said.
Seven adult males, and one male youth, were located in the residence and taken into custody without incident.
A search of the residence located two loaded handguns, with an over capacity magazine, extended magazine, and fully automatic selector switch, as well as two kilograms of cocaine, a quantity of fentanyl, and hydromorphone.
A 56-year-old male from Ajax, a 52-year-old male from Pickering, a 28-year-old male from Trenton, a 60-year-old male from Toronto, a 54-year-old male from Bancroft, a 55-year-old male from Ajax, a 20-year-old male from Trenton, and a 14-year-old male from Oshawa were charged.
The seven adult males were held for a bail hearing. The 14-year-old male was released on an undertaking. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
