The Regional Municipality of Durham, in collaboration with the Township of Uxbridge, is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Regional Road 39 and Zephyr Road (Regional Road 13) in the community of Zephyr.
It is located at the intersection of Regional Road 39 and Zephyr Road in Uxbridge, and is scheduled to be installed October 16. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
The aim is to improve road safety, the municipality said.
It said the new all-way stop will require all drivers in each direction to stop their vehicle before entering the intersection and yield the right-of-way to the first vehicle or other road user to come to a complete stop. This enhancement will improve safety by providing a controlled crossing for all road users.
Road closure on Ritson Road North in Oshawa
The Regional Municipality is also advising residents of a road closure on Ritson Road North in the City of Oshawa from November 2 to end of day November 3. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
It will be on Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16) between Maine Street and Britannia Avenue East, and is being implemented to safely install a sanitary sewer in support of new development.
The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
