Durham police are asking you to help solve two crimes

Durham Regional Police Service  (DRPS) is appealing to the public to help solve two crimes separately involving a woman and a man.

On Friday February 7 at about 4:15 am, members of West Division responded to a call in the area of Rossland Road East and Audley Road in Ajax. The homeowner’s black BMW was stolen by the suspects prior to police arrival. The vehicle has since been recovered by police.

Further investigation has revealed that on Saturday February 22, a female passenger was observed inside the stolen BMW in Toronto.

Investigators are looking to identify this female and speak to her as part of the investigation.

She is described as: female, Black with a light complexion, long black hair.

Fake Currency

On April 2, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m., officers from West Division responded to a fraud in progress at the Best Buy located at 20 Kingston Road West in Ajax.

A male suspect attempted to make a purchase using counterfeit Canadian $20 bills. The store employee became suspicious when the texture of the bills felt unusual and noticed that each bill shared the same serial number. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival, leaving behind $240 in counterfeit bills.

The suspect is described as: male, Middle Eastern, 20-25 years of age, medium build, 6’0 tall, dark hair with moustache and goatee. He was wearing a grey tracksuit, white shoes and was carrying a black side bag.
