A 30-year-old man already facing charges related to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl is now facing additional allegations, Durham police say.
According to police, the man was initially arrested on May 2, and charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement. During the investigation, officers uncovered evidence that he was also involved in a sexual relationship with a second 14-year-old girl.
On May 29, members of the Tactical Support Unit and the Offender Management Unit executed an arrest warrant at a home in Ajax. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The 30-year-old man, of Ajax is facing multiple charges and was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
The suspect met one of the victims online and police have concerns there could be other victims. The male goes by the aliases “Shank” and “Shankar” and his username on Snapchat is itsurboigta1.
