Durham Regional Police are asking for the public’s help following a reported assault involving a knife in Oshawa.
According to police, the incident happened around 10:30 pm on Sunday, June 1. Officers from Central West Division responded to reports of an armed individual near Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive.
Investigators say a man was walking westbound on Danztore Path when he encountered two people heading in the opposite direction. As they passed, the man allegedly pulled out a knife and attempted to stab one of them before fleeing the scene.
Police, including K9 units, searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The motive behind the incident is still unclear, and police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with surveillance or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is urged to contact authorities.
