A 15-year old male is in custody after committing multiple armed robberies in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.
On Saturday, December 13, around 8:15 pm, a male entered the Circle K located at 180 King Street East in Clarington, and demanded cash while armed with two large knives.
On Saturday, January 3, around 6:10 pm, the suspect entered the Liberty Best Variety located at 83 Liberty Street South in Bowmanville, and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at an employee.
On Monday, January 5, around 8:50 pm, the suspect re-attended Liberty Best Variety, and demanded cash while pointing a firearm at an employee. The suspect attempted to flee but was taken into custody a short distance away. The firearm was determined to be an imitation handgun.
No employees suffered any physical injuries, police said.
