Police catch Oshawa bank robber within hours of heist

Durham police yesterday said a male is facing charges after robbing a bank in Oshawa.

On Friday, January 2, around 12:15 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a robbery at the TD Bank located at 22 Stevenson Road South. A male entered the bank and handed an employee a note demanding cash. The suspect secured a quantity of cash before fleeing the area.

No employees suffered any physical injuries, police said.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect who was taken into custody several hours later near his residence.  The suspect is a 38-year old man from Oshawa.
