Accessible playground coming to Bowmanville’s Lord Elgin Park

The Municipality of Clarington is moving forward with upgrades to Lord Elgin Park in Bowmanville, aiming to improve accessibility and create a new playground designed for all ages.

According to Clarington, the project will expand the play area and add new play structures, swings, benches, and freshly paved pathways. Accessibility will be further enhanced with a ramp and wood fibre safety surfacing, allowing children of all abilities to enjoy the space together.

Construction is set to begin the week of Monday, August 18, with the upgraded playground expected to reopen this fall. During the work, parts of the park may be temporarily closed.
