Durham police yesterday said a male is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation in Ajax.
Police said the adult victim agreed to meet the suspect at his residence to spend time together. While inside the residence, the suspect forcibly prevented the victim from leaving and sexually assaulted her. The victim was later able to flee the residence and contact police, said the statement.
On Thursday, October 1 at about 6:10 am, members of West Division responded to a sexual assault call at a residence in the area of Lake Driveway West and Hawkins Crescent.
Officers attended the suspect’s residence and took the male into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a local-area hospital with minor injuries, police said.
It has concerns there may be other victims. Name, photo of the 29-year old accused from Ajax and further details can be viewed at www.drps.ca.
He was charged and held for a bail hearing.
