Ajax Partnership Fund is investing $25,000 for Ajax Youth Greening Projects in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
It is estimated, the program will be engaging over 160 youth in 10 greening events.
The town is hosting a series of projects that engage youth in action-based, meaningful work that protects, enhances and restores natural infrastructure. The programming is funded through a $25,000 grant from the town’s new corporate giving program; the Ajax Partnership Fund (APF) and is designed to engage and support the next generation of conservation leaders, equipping them with the tools they need to act in support of their community’s environmental sustainability, said a town statement.
Youth will learn more about the restoration projects and ways they can continue to champion healthy watersheds and a sustainable environment. Additionally, among other activities, participants will be planting indigenous trees, shrubs and wildflowers in Ajax to help keep our community green, healthy and beautiful, it said.
