Police looking for third suspect in $50,000 park vandalism

Two teen suspects have been arrested in an investigation into extensive property damage at an Oshawa park and Garden of Human Rights.

On Wednesday, June 14, three suspects entered the newly designed Ed Broadbent Park located at 169 Harbour Road, Oshawa and caused extensive property damage. The suspects smashed numerous light poles, a camera and a vending machine, causing damage in excess of $50,000.

An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old males were charged released on undertakings.

There is one outstanding suspect in relation to this incident.

The Durham Regional Police Service would like to remind our community members that our parks are community spaces and, through a collaborative effort, are to be enjoyed by all.
