Ajax says 90% of provincial building target is completed

The Town of Ajax announced it will be receiving over $4 million through Ontario’s Building Faster Fund (BFF), recognizing the town’s efforts to advance a mix of housing types.

“This funding acknowledges our 2023 housing count, where they have reached 90 per cent of their provincial target (1,247 units),” said Mayor Shaun Collier.

He said Ajax council memebrs appreciate Minister Paul Calandra and Ajax MPP Patrice Barnes for working closely with Minister Sean Fraser and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to confirm the town’s eligibility for this funding.

With this financial support, the town can invest in the infrastructure necessary to enable more housing options in Ajax.

Ajax Council continues to be committed to doing their part to respond to the housing crisis by working with all partners to meet their Housing Pledge of 17,000 units by 2031.
