Durham Police said four youth have been arrested after setting a fire that caused extensive damage in Oshawa.
On Sunday, October 6, at about 5:10 am, members of Central East Division responded to a residential fire in the area of Eddystone Path and Okanagan Path, in Oshawa. The residence was occupied when the fire began, however, all occupants of the residence were able to safely evacuate.
There were no physical injuries reported, police said.
The fire resulted in extensive damage to multiple homes, estimated to be in excess of $2-million. Investigators deemed the fire suspicious and concluded the cause was arson.
On Sunday, October 27, members of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch concluded their investigation and took four young females into custody.
A 12-year-old female, two 15-year-old females and a 16-year-old female all from Oshawa were charged and were all held for a bail hearing.
